The Orlando US Export Assistance Center, the US Commercial Service Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and the Central Florida International Trade Office, organized and hosted 18 members from Sindimaco, a Brazilian Association of Retail Construction, Paint, Hardware, and Building Materials from August 25-29, 2014 in Florida. The delegation learned about the US building material and construction market by hearing from guest speakers and touring central Florida stores. Featured speakers included Juliana Pena from Orange County Government, Joseph Harris from Harris Civil Engineers, Ross Jermano from RM Plus, and Leo Antunes from APL Construction Company.
Mindi Hertzog of the Orlando US Export Assistance Center and Elizabeth Krekel of the Central Florida International Trade Office organized the meetings to help American companies do more business with Brazil, thus helping to support hundreds of jobs in the Greater Orlando region. The group was given formal tours at Home Depot, Ferguson, HD Supply, Ro-Mac Lumber & Supply, Lowe’s, Miller’s Hardware, and Best Buy. The highlight of the week was a “Made in the US – Building Products Expo and Catalog Show”. Certified Slings, Environmental Water Solutions, and Mainstream Engineering were several of the companies exhibiting at the show.
