The Central Florida International Trade Office partnered with the World Affairs Council of Central Florida, the World Affairs Council of America, and the American Academy of Diplomacy to host a breakfast listening session with Ambassador Canavan on May 19, 2017.
Attendees had the chance to ask pertinent foreign policy questions about numerous issues of today. The former Ambassador was with the Department of State for more than 35 years and gave first-hand examples about how foreign policy impacts officials in the field. She held positions in Namibia, Mexico, Jamaica, Germany, Botswana, Lesotho, among others.
The American Academy of Diplomacy (AAD) supports programs that help diplomats respond to a world undergoing change, highlights past achievements and future opportunities for U.S. diplomacy, advocates for the resources needed to conduct an effective foreign policy, and fosters constructive debate on the best use of U.S. diplomatic assets.
