The Florida Trade and Logistics institute presented the Trade and Logistics Plan for Central Florida on September 18, 2014. The Florida Chamber Foundation’s Trade and Logistics study building on the state’s plan to transform the state’s economy through trade, logistics, and export-oriented manufacturing activities and identifies a potential of 150,000 new trade and logistics jobs that can be created over the next five years.
The morning sessions featured community leaders who discussed the position of Central Florida in the global marketplace. The leaders also offered ideas on how to collaborate to increase the region’s global economic competitiveness around trade, freight, and logistics.
Following the presentation at Orlando International Airport, the attendees traveled to Port Canaveral where the Canaveral Port Authority gave the group an informative presentation about the Port developments along with a tour around Port Canaveral.
