From January 30-31, 2017, the Chambre de commerce Québec-Floride led a trade mission to Central Florida.
During the Orlando visit, the mission visited the Orlando EDC which provided a business overview of the region. The UCF Soft Landing’s Program and the trade commissioner from the Consulate of Canada in Miami also presented. The delegation toured Canvs, a nonprofit coworking space for tech startups. They learned about Starter Studio and FireSpring Fund. They heard from the Florida High Tech Corridor and the Orlando Tech Association. January 30th concluded with an evening reception sponsored by the Central Florida International Trade Office, Orange County Government, and JPMorgan Chase.
On January 31st, the companies met with relevant Florida companies and learned more about the business climate in Florida. They toured the National Entrepreneur Center followed by a visit to Bridg. At Bridg, formerly ICAMR, they learned about FloridaMakes as well as learning more about Bridg, which focuses on high-tech sensors.
