On October 8, 2014, Friends of International Trade learned the importance of international business etiquette when doing business globally. UCF management professor, Dr. Lauryn De George spoke about the many cultural differences of global businesses. Four panels were presented dealing with four different regions of the world including: Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and South America. Panelists included Robert Lee (China), Izumi Sakurada (Japan), Vivi Tran (Vietnam), Khalid Muneer (UAE), Axelle Rayrolles (France), Edsel Oliveira (Brazil), and Roberto Velasco (Colombia). From how to present a business card in Japan to business negotiations in Brazil, the attendees learned that there is a lot to know and that each company must research cultural differences before going abroad.
